Image converter — HEIC to JPG, PNG, WebP
Convert HEIC, PNG, WebP and JPG, resize and compress — locally, nothing uploaded.
What is this image converter?
Editors and content creators constantly get images they can't drop into a timeline or a doc — most often HEIC from an iPhone, plus WebP and oversized PNGs. This free tool converts between HEIC, JPG, PNG and WebP, with optional resize and quality control, entirely in your browser. The headline job is HEIC to JPG (or PNG): your photos are decoded, converted and saved on your device — nothing is ever uploaded to a server.
How to convert HEIC to JPG
- Drop your HEIC files (or paste, or pick a whole folder). Each shows its format, size and dimensions.
- Choose an output format — JPG for photos, PNG for graphics or transparency, WebP for the smallest files.
- Optionally set quality, resize (it never upscales), and a background color for transparency.
- Click Convert, then download each image or grab them all as a ZIP. The before/after shows how much smaller they got.
Which format should I use?
JPG (JPEG) is best for photographs and gives the smallest files for photographic content, but has no transparency. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, ideal for screenshots, logos and graphics. WebP usually produces the smallest file at the same quality and supports transparency, but a few older apps don't read it. HEIC decodes as input only — there's no reliable in-browser HEIC encoder, and converting out of HEIC into JPG or PNG is exactly what most people need.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert HEIC to JPG?
Drop your HEIC (or HEIF) files, choose JPG as the output format, set the quality, and click Convert. Each photo is decoded and re-encoded to JPG in your browser, then you download it — no upload, no sign-up.
Does my image upload anywhere?
No. Decoding, resizing and encoding all happen on your device. No image is ever sent to a server — you can confirm it in your browser's network tab.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes. Queue a whole folder of HEICs (or any mix), convert them in a batch with progress, and download them all as a ZIP.
Is it free?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up. Everything runs locally in your browser.
Why did my transparent PNG turn white as JPG?
JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a background color (white by default — you can change it). To keep transparency, convert to PNG or WebP instead.
