What is a loudness meter?
A loudness meter measures how loud your audio is perceived, in LUFS, plus true peak (dBTP) and loudness range (LRA) — the numbers broadcasters and streaming platforms check at QC. Editools analyzes your file locally and compares it against common delivery targets, so you know whether it will pass before you send it.

Frequently asked questions
What is LUFS?
LUFS (Loudness Units Full Scale) is the standard measure of perceived loudness used in delivery specs. Integrated LUFS is the average across the whole program.
What is true peak?
True peak (dBTP) estimates the real peak level between samples, catching overshoots a normal peak meter misses. Most specs cap it around −1 dBTP.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Decoding and analysis run entirely in your browser — the file never leaves your device.
Does this replace my delivery QC?
It's a reference aid. Always confirm against your platform's or client's exact delivery spec before you deliver.
Can it adjust my file to a target?
Yes — optionally. When a file misses the target, you can render a corrected version that gain-matches it to the target (e.g. normalize to −23 LUFS for broadcast), with a true-peak safety limiter so it stays under the ceiling. It only adjusts loudness by gain; it does not remix, EQ or master your audio.
