Free image upscaler
Upscale low-res screenshots and graphics for HD edits — locally, with AI, then frame them for the timeline.
AI super-resolution (Swin2SR). The 4× model also cleans up JPEG/compression artifacts. First run downloads the model (~once), then it's cached.
Drag the handle. Shown at 100% — scroll to inspect real detail (left: original scaled up, right: result).

AI upscaling reconstructs plausible detail and works best on screenshots, text, UI and graphics. Very blurry or tiny photos improve but aren't magically restored. Video-preset canvases export at exactly that pixel size — ready to drop on a timeline.
What is an AI image upscaler?
An image upscaler enlarges a small picture while reconstructing detail so it doesn't go soft or pixelated. Upscale runs AI super-resolution (Swin2SR) entirely in your browser to enlarge low-res screenshots, logos and UI grabs 2× or 4× — cleaning up edges, making text more legible and reducing JPEG/compression artifacts — then lets you frame the result into a timeline-ready graphic: rounded corners, a border, a soft shadow, and the classic blurred-fill background that fills a 16:9 (or vertical/square) frame. The image never leaves your device, and once the model is cached it works offline.
How to use it
- Paste a screenshot (⌘/Ctrl+V), drop a file, or pick one — PNG, JPG or WebP.
- Choose 2× or 4× and upscale (AI), or use Fast for an instant non-AI comparison; check the before/after at 100%.
- Optionally frame it — pick a canvas (1920×1080, vertical, square…), a background (transparent, solid, blurred fill), corners, border and shadow — then export PNG or JPG.
When editors use it
Dropping an Instagram comment, a tiny logo, a UI grab or a screenshot into an HD or 4K edit without it looking soft; building a clean lower-third graphic from a small source; or producing a vertical/Reels version of a screenshot with a blurred background — all without paying for a cloud service or uploading client material.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. Upscale is free with no sign-up. The AI model downloads once from a CDN and is cached in your browser, so later runs work offline.
Does my image upload anywhere?
No. The image is decoded and upscaled entirely in your browser — it never leaves your device and is never uploaded to any server.
How much can it upscale?
2× or 4×. A 480×480 grab becomes roughly 960×960 or 1920×1920, and you can place the result on a 1920×1080 or 3840×2160 canvas, ready for a timeline.
Will it fix a very blurry photo?
AI super-resolution reconstructs plausible detail and works best on screenshots, text, UI and graphics. Very blurry or tiny photos improve but aren't magically restored — it can't invent detail that was never captured.
