What are live markers?
Live Markers is a real-time logging tool: it runs a timecode clock you start on action and tap to drop a marker — with a note — the instant something happens. Screenings, live events, dailies, multi-cam shoots and QC passes: instead of scrubbing back later to find that one moment, you capture it as it goes by. The clock runs at your project's frame rate, drop-frame and non-drop both handled, so every marker's timecode lines up with your sequence, and you can jam it to time-of-day or to a custom start time. Type a note and it attaches to the marker; keep typing and it chains straight into the next one, so you never look away from the screen.
How to use it
- Set a session name, your delivery frame rate, and the clock mode — time-of-day or a custom jammed start time.
- Start the session and tap MARK, or just start typing, to log each moment; add a note and press Enter to save it and begin the next marker.
- When you're done, copy the list or export Avid markers (TXT) or CSV — or send the timecodes straight to YouTube Chapters.
When editors use it
Logging notes during a live screening or client review so the feedback is already timecoded when you sit down to cut. Marking circle takes and good moments on a shoot or in dailies. Does the clock keep real time?
Yes — it runs at your chosen frame rate, drop-frame included, either following this device's time-of-day clock or a custom start time you jam, so every marker's timecode matches your timeline.
Can I add notes to each marker?
Yes. Type a note for any marker; with mark-on-type the first keystroke even creates the marker, and Enter saves it and starts the next. Shift+1 to 8 sets a colour.
How do I get the markers into my NLE?
Copy the list, export an Avid markers TXT or a CSV, or push the timecodes to the YouTube Chapters tool — they import as markers to review in your edit.
Is it private and free?
Yes to both — the clock and your markers run entirely in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and there is no sign-up or install.
